Berwick Baptist Church

...a safe place to grow together in love for God, others and the world

Calendar with Sunday ringed

Every church is different, and we want you to feel as comfortable as possible when you come to worship with us on a Sunday. On this page we try to give an idea of what to expect if you come along.

At most of our services we:

  • Catch up with news from our own and other churches (local, national and worldwide)
  • Spend time in prayer about things that matter
  • Sing songs, both traditional and more modern
  • Read the Bible
  • Listen to a Bible-based talk

Family friendly

Children are very welcome at our church services. Although we have no Sunday School or Children's Church, we have a table at the back with drawing materials for the children, if they wish to use them.

paper and pencils

The service usually lasts about an hour and a quarter, with opportunities for everyone to take part and times of open prayer when anyone is welcome to participate. Afterwards there are refreshments and a chance to catch up with each other.

We regularly celebrate Communion together as we remember what Jesus has done for us by his death and resurrection. The person leading that part of the service will explain what it means and you are free to take part or not. We try to make the service more inclusive by using non-alcoholic 'wine' and gluten-free bread.

If you have other questions look at our FAQ page, or contact us before you come.
